Who runs this site

Processing.ie is operated by Katsunori Ogane as an individual, based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy-related question or to exercise your data-protection rights, contact katsunori@ogane.net.

What is collected

The site uses Google Analytics 4 in two modes:

Without cookies (default) — Google receives cookieless aggregate pings (pageviews, country-level location, browser / OS) with no identifier that links sessions together.
With cookies (only if you click Accept on the banner) — Google sets analytics cookies that group your visits into a session and let me see behavioural patterns across pages. No name, email, or other directly identifying information is collected.

Your form selections (chosen source, category, type, application date) and your cookie-banner choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device.

Why

Aggregate analytics help me see which prediction categories are most-checked so improvements can be prioritised. I do not show ads, sell or share data, or profile individual visitors.

Legal basis

Cookie-based analytics: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time.
Cookieless aggregate pings: legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in measuring use of the site without identifying you.
localStorage of your form selections: necessary to provide the predictor as you've configured it (Article 6(1)(b)).

Who receives data

Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) — processes pageview and event data.
Amazon Web Services, Inc. — hosts the site (eu-west-1) and the CDN (CloudFront edge locations).

International transfers

Google Analytics data is transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. AWS hosting is primarily in Ireland (eu-west-1) but the CloudFront CDN serves the site from global edge locations.

How long data is kept

Google Analytics event data: 14 months (the GA4 default retention).
localStorage: until you clear your browser data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask me to:

Confirm what data I hold about you and provide a copy (right of access);
Correct inaccurate data (rectification);
Delete data I hold (erasure);
Restrict or object to processing;
Receive your data in a portable format.

You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing the processing-ie-consent key from your browser's site data; the banner will reappear on the next visit and you can pick differently.

If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority in the EU.

Automated decision-making

The processing-date prediction is a linear regression on publicly published government data. It is not a decision about you in the legal sense — the same input always produces the same result, regardless of who asks.

Changes to this policy

If something material changes (new data recipient, new processing purpose, new categories of data) this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
