Support

Processing.ie is an unofficial statistical estimator that projects when your Irish visa decision, employment permit, or IRP renewal application is likely to be processed, based on officially published progress. This page answers the questions I hear most often and lists the ways to get in touch.

This page is support for the Processing.ie estimator itself, not for your actual application. I can't look up, progress, expedite, or comment on the status or outcome of any individual visa, employment permit, or IRP renewal — I have no access to your case and no relationship with the Irish authorities. For questions about your own application, contact the relevant Irish authority directly via the "Official source ↗" link on the matching result. If your case is complex, time-critical, or appears to be stuck, consider engaging an Irish immigration solicitor — Processing.ie is a statistical tool, not a legal adviser, and cannot give legal advice about your case.

Contact

For questions about the Processing.ie estimator — bugs, missing categories, feedback, suggestions — email me. I read every message and reply as quickly as I can.

Please mention which app you're using (Processing.ie on the web, the iOS app, or any other Processing.ie surface) and, if relevant, the source / category / type / application date you've selected so I can reproduce what you're seeing.

Processing.ie is run by a single person (a sole trader), so replies can be delayed at busy times — please bear with me, and feel free to send a polite follow-up if you haven't heard back within a week.

I cannot help with the status, progress, or outcome of your actual visa, employment permit, or IRP renewal application. For that, contact the relevant Irish authority directly via the "Official source ↗" link on the matching result — or, if you need legal advice or your case is stuck, consult an Irish immigration solicitor.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Irish government service?

No. Processing.ie is an independent statistical tool built on top of the progress information that Irish immigration authorities publish on their own websites. I am not affiliated with the Department of Justice, Immigration Service Delivery, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, or any other Irish government organisation. For an authoritative answer about your specific application, always check the official source page (the "Official source ↗" link in each result) or contact the relevant authority directly.

Why is my estimate different from what the official page shows?

The official pages publish a single date — the date of the application currently being processed. They don't tell you when your application will be processed. Processing.ie fits a linear regression on the recent history of those published dates and projects forward to the date you entered. That projection is statistical, not authoritative, and will differ from any official figure by the same margin any forecast differs from reality. Treat it as a rough guide, not a commitment.

How often is the data updated?

The progress dates are scraped from the official source pages once a day. The latest scrape time is shown above the date picker ("As of <date>, applications from <date> are being processed"). If the snapshot looks stale, the official page itself may not have refreshed — official progress dates often move only on weekdays, and sometimes only weekly.

Why does it sometimes say "Likely already processed"?

If the date you entered is on or before the date the official page is currently reporting as "in processing," your application has, by definition, already passed through the queue. The app shows a message rather than a specific estimated date in that case, because the regression's retrodicted date would just be telling you what the official page already says directly. Check the "Official source ↗" link or your application portal for the actual outcome.

Why won't it accept a date in the future?

An application date is, by definition, in the past — you've already submitted the application. Choosing a date in the future would have no meaningful interpretation, so the date picker is bounded to today and earlier.

My visa / permit / renewal type isn't listed. What now?

I can only estimate categories that the Irish authorities themselves publish a "currently processing" date for. If your specific case isn't covered, the official source pages may not surface that information at all — in which case there's no underlying data for any tool to estimate from. For Visa decisions, Employment permits, and IRP renewals I follow the pages linked under "Official source ↗"; if a category visible on those pages is missing in the app, please email me so I can extend the scraper.

I think there's a bug or the data looks wrong.

I can't fix what I can't reproduce, so the more detail you can share, the faster I can help.

What do you do with my data?

Nothing leaves your device. Your selections (source, category, type, application date) are stored only in your local browser storage (on the web) or in app-private storage on the device (in the mobile apps). I don't collect personal data, don't sync your selections to a server, and don't track individual users. Full details are in the privacy policy.
